Although there was a majority in favour of the amendments to the constitution, the vote didn’t meet the 75% majority required by the constitution to have the resolution adopted. The Board of Directors will reconsider the special resolution in light of feedback from the meeting.
The Meeting also marked the retirement of CVIAQ President Mrs Sharon O’Phee from O’Phee Trailers, Vice President Mr John Grossman from Daimler Chrysler and Board Director Mr Ian Langton from Esanda Finance.
Mrs Sharon O’Phee will continue to serve the industry through her recent appointment by the Queensland Government to the position of Chair of the SkillsTech Australia Board. SkillsTech Australia is now the government provider of all trade-technician training in Queensland including all trades in the heavy vehicle industry.
Mr Rob Brown (The Brown & Hurley Group) was elected unopposed to the position of President with Mr Bob Martin (Jost Australia) re-elected Director and elected Vice President. Mr Greg Allison (Drake Trailers) and Mr Lance Gillies (Bullbars for Trucks) were elected for the first time to the Board. All other current Board Directors remain.
