The presentation of the Apprentice of the Year Award took place during the CVIAQ Annual Dinner and Awards Night held at Hillstone St.Lucia on Saturday 11th October and was won by Mr James Priddey from MTU Detroit Diesel Australia. The awards were announced by Board Director and judging panel chairman, Mr Bob Martin.

The Apprentice of the Year Award is an annual award open to apprentices in the final stages of their training from the heavy vehicle repair, service and manufacturing sectors. The award is held in high regard by industry and has a history stretching back over twenty-five years.

The judges chose five recipients for awards:

The prize value for the awards was in excess of $8,000.00 with the Apprentice of the Year, James Priddey receiving a laptop, software, printer and tools to the value of $3,500.00

The High Achievement Award winners received tools to the value of $1,500.00 each with the Certificate of Merit Awards winners receiving tools to the value of $1,000 each.
