17/04/10  CVIAQ Presidents Charity Dinner Raises Record Amount for the Leukaemia Foundation

260 guests representing the industry's leading companies attended the annual CVIAQ President's Charity Dinner at the Brisbane Hilton on Saturday 17th April to witness the event raise in excess of $100,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation. The amount raised was deemed a fundraising record for the event after taking into consideration the number of guests bidding on the night.

CVIAQ President, Mr Bob Martin, said that the generosity of the guests was a stunning effort considering the industry is still feeling the effects of last year's global financial crisis. Mr Martin also thanked the CVIAQ organising committee and the Leukaemia Foundation staff for their tireless efforts in organising another great evening.

The dinner marks the ninth year the CVIAQ Board has made the Leukaemia Foundation its beneficiary. The funds were raised through the silent auction, the Charity Truck Fundraising Wall and the main auction which included valuable auction items like the Isuzu truck courtesy of Isuzu Australia and the Donna Gibb painting.

CVIAQ continues its commitment to assist patients and their families living with Leukaemia, Lymphoma and other related blood diseases.
