Team CVIAQ raised over $17,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation in its 'Shave for a Cure' campaign to raise money to assist in funding blood disease research and to provide practical support for patients during their long and tough treatment.
The team comprised Brett Wright (CVIAQ), Mark Johnston (Haulmark Trailers & Charity Dinner organiser), Chris Musch (Isuzu Australia & Charity Dinner organiser) and Mark Strambi (Manheim Fowles Auction Group & Charity Dinner organiser).
The team created a profile web page in the weeks leading to the CVIAQ Charity Dinner and invited business colleagues, friends and family to donate to the cause.
The four team members had their heads shaved in front of guests during the Charity dinner. Guests were invited to the stage to make a donation and in return assist in shaving one of the team members.
In his speech during the evening, Charity Dinner organiser, Mr Mark Johnston thanked all those people who donated to the worthy cause and called for volunteers to 'shave for a cure' at the 2011 dinner.
