| CVIAQ is proud to announce the details of their new office, currently in its initial construction stage. The three building complex, located at the new MetroWest Business & Technology Park off Monier Road at Darra, is being undertaken as a joint venture project with fellow automotive industry association, the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers (IAME) whose Queensland branch will also be housed within the complex.
The land, Lot 24, 115 Bluestone Circuit, Darra, was purchased by the joint venture in March 2010. Plans for the three building complex are currently being finalised. The IAME will be housed in Unit 1 being a 610m2, two story building that will hold their office, print shop and training room. CVIAQ will be accommodated in Unit 2 which is a 530m2, two storey facility. The office area will be located on the ground floor with board room, two training rooms and staff room on the upper level.
The third building, a 420m² two level office / warehouse facility, will be kept for investment purposes. The building will be tenanted to a like minded business with the leasing arrangements being supervised by the joint venture management committee. Advertising the third unit for lease will commence in the near future. The complex will house over twenty car parking spaces allowing convenience for members who attend events or training at the CVIAQ office.
The location, just around the corner from CVIAQ's current office, ensures that the association remains very central to the greater proportion of its membership providing ease for members to attend events or to call in to speak face to face with the staff.
CVIAQ President, Mr Bob Martin, commented "The Board has been investigating property investment for a number of years. The construction of a purpose built facility provides CVIAQ with plenty of room for growth and ensures their permanent home for many years to come. Building an additional unit to lease also presents the association with an extra revenue stream. The inclusion of training rooms provides future options for CVIAQ to offer technical training courses to its members."
IAME CEO, Mr Peter Blanshard, said "the development of a three unit complex in conjunction with strategic partner, CVIAQ, is a secure investment, providing ample office, training room and warehouse space for the IAME Queensland branch to perform its duties and provide further benefits to the members. The third unit will be jointly owned by CVIAQ and IAME and will provide further income."
Construction is due for completion in October 2010. CVIAQ look forward to keeping members informed on the progress of development.
