CVIAQ CEO, Mr Brett Wright, has negotiated successfully with the Department of Education, Training and the Arts (DETA) in securing funding to recruit a project officer on a two year contract to oversee the Skills Formation Strategy in Heavy Repair and report back to Government.
Skills Formation Strategies provide a framework for industries and communities to work with each other, the Queensland Government and other relevant stakeholders to address industry skill shortages.
Mr Wright was very pleased with the outcome which not only provides for a Project Officer dedicated to developing a heavy vehicle repair strategy but offers additional funding for the Officer to host meetings and presentations with industry and community stakeholders to identify real causes of skilling shortages and to develop appropriate solutions.
The Queensland Government, to ensure its investment in vocational education and training is useful to industries and communities, is encouraging the collaboration between the two to address the issues that influence the effectiveness of skilling.
CVIAQ is currently advertising for interested persons who wish to apply for the Project Officer role. Please see further in the newsletter for a job description and selection criteria. |
