27/05/11  CVIAQ Supports Flood Affected Members

The CVIAQ Board of Directors, when recommending the membership fees for the 2011/12 financial year, resolved to waive the year's membership fees to those members who were directly affected by the January floods.

In the weeks following the floods, CVIAQ staff were busy meeting with flood affected members to ascertain how best the Association could help. In several instances CVIAQ was able to assist by linking those companies flood affected with other member companies who could provide specialist equipment.

Further, CVIAQ provided members with financial assistance information extracted from the State and Federal Government web sites.

CVIAQ CEO, Mr Brett Wright, commented "The Board's generous offer now takes CVIAQ's flood assistance to a financial level equating to over $12,500 in direct relief to 19 flood affected industry member companies."

To be eligible for the 2011/12 membership fee waiver, member companies must:
have sustained flood inundation which totally or partially destroyed plant, equipment and premises
have been a financial CVIAQ member at the time of the January floods
be a Queensland based member

CVIAQ will be posting letters to the flood affected companies by Friday 3rd June. Please contact the CVIAQ office after this date if you haven't received a letter and you believe that your company is eligible for the waiver.
