27/01/12  Prevocational Automotive Training Program
 

In seeking to address the needs of the Queensland automotive industry to acquire more skilled staff at entry level, Skills Queensland has provided funding for the delivery of a prevocational education program dedicated to the Queensland automotive industry.  This funding is part of its Strategic Investment Fund.There are up to 160 training places available for funding under this program. 

Expressions of interest are sought from Registered Training Organisations to deliver the 2012/2013 Prevocational Automotive Training Program.

All training delivery and vocational education placement for 160 participants in the Brisbane metropolitan and Gold Coast areas must be completed before December 2013.   There are 7 units of competency to be delivered plus vocational education placements.

AURE218676A Test, service and charge batteries 15 Hours
     
AURT200108A Carry out service operations 20 Hours
     
AURT201170A Inspect and service engines 20 Hours
     
AURT200368A Use bearings/seals/gaskets 15 Hours
     
AURT270278A Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment 40 Hours
     
AURT271781A Implement and monitor environmental regulations in the automotive mechanical industry 20 Hours
   
Total Training Hours: 150 Hours
   
Total Vocational Placement Hours: 160 Hours
   

Registered Training Organisations in Queensland are invited to submit an Expression of Interest in the delivery of such a program.  An application form can be obtained by emailing Automotive Skills Queensland – info@asqld.org.au

Completed application forms are due with ASQ by Wednesday 15 February 2012.
