On the 3rd of December 2008 CVIAQ hosted a SkillsTech training delivery workshop at the CVIAQ Darra office. The workshop was well attended by three SkillsTech staff, ten industry participants and CVIAQ staff.

The workshop gave skills tech the opportunity to explain to industry how the current training package is structured which allows flexibility for industry to customise training to fit their needs and gave examples of current resources, teaching processes and assessment.

The second session of the workshop focused on a review of the current apprentice training plan. Discussion occurred around how to streamline the training system and make it more efficient to accommodate the increased demand for training services that SkillsTech provides. In particular the induction/ sign up process and the K to J result process were discussed in length.

Continued engagement between industry and SkillsTech will occur to determine if any changes will be made to way that SkillsTech delivers training services to the commercial vehicle industry.
