CVIAQ has recently circulated a copy of the draft Vehicle Standards Bulletin (VSB) "Certification and Proof of Compliance Requirements - UN ECE R93 Front Under run Protection Devices and UN ECE R29 Cab Strength Requirements" to all CVIAQ Member contacts and Manufacturer Council contacts for comment.

CVIAQ is developing the document in conjunction with Queensland Transport, RTA of NSW, VicRoad Transport SA and the Truck Industry Council (TIC) to bring about uniform arrangements for truck and bullbar manufacturers and other allied companies wishing to certify for FUP and Cab Strength. The current interim arrangements will expire on the 31 March 2006 in most states and it is inteded for the VSB to take effect from 1 April 2006.

In addition, an information brochure has been drafted to provide details on the general operational and plating requirements of 26m B-Doubles to inform the wider industry. This will be produced shortly and be distributed throughout a number of Australia's leading transport magazines, road agencies and of course directly from the CVIAQ, CVIAA states and the TIC.
