BRISBANE TURNS IT ON AGAIN

This year's Queensland Truck and Machinery Show recorded the second largest attendance in its 39 year history with 39,559 attendees over the four days of the show, according to the show's organiser Brett Wright, Chief Executive Officer of the CVIAQ.

Wright says the show featured 308 registered exhibitor companies, up from 266 in 2005 utilising over 70,000 square metres of space. "It's an absolute credit to the exhibitors who excelled themselves in providing a world class show which is without peer in Australia’” says Wright.

According to Wright, the organisers have had overwhelming positive feedback from both large and small exhibitors, with many reporting significant sales enquiries and quite a number making sales off their stands.

“The CVIAQ always focuses on attracting the maximum number of industry related people to the show and a great indicator of this is many exhibitors reporting greater sales and sales inquiry than 2005.” 

The combination of the show “Passport Competition” featuring the major prize of a HINO Truck valued at over $60,000 and four daily prizes of an Engel fridge assisted in drawing crowds and promoted even traffic flow throughout the show grounds. All new stand areas for PACCAR trucks featuring both the Kenworth and DAF brands together in Building 10 also impressed as crowds flocked to see the new area which also featured the National Apprentice Challenge organised by the CVIAQ.  

Another outstanding success was the free bus and rail loops provided by CVIAQ to ease traffic congestion and provide a seamless service for exhibitors and visitors to the show.”

The show ran from May 17 to May 20 at Brisbane's RNA show grounds and will be held again in May 2009.
