INDUSTRY EXPECTATIONS OF THE WORKFORCE
 
The workforce in the commercial vehicle industry is expected to have the following skills and attributes:
 
Workplace attitude and ethics - have the ability to work by yourself or in groups, willingness to learn, flexibility, professional and customer focus, passion and commitment to the industry, punctuality, respect and cooperation, enthusiasm and pride in your work.
   
Mechanical skills, working with hands - have mechanical skills that will allow you to effectively complete work , enjoy practical and manual work.
   
Literacy and Numeracy – effective numeracy and math skills are needed to complete regular workplace calculations. Communication and literacy skills are needed to complete workplace systems such as job cards and warranty claims. These skills are also required to successfully communicate with management, administration and other members of the workforce.
   
Workplace health and safety – these skills are vitally important in ensuring the safety of all employees in a business.
