The CVIAQ represents its members at a national level on issues which impact or influence the viability or efficiency of the industry.
Areas of work include technical and regulatory proposals affecting vehicle and component construction, modification and operation. The CVIAQ also participates in the review and development of national training packages related to the commercial vehicle industry.
CVIAQ co-operates with like bodies and association such as the Truck Industry Council on matters effecting truck and engine manufacturers.
The CVIAQ is affiliated with our national body the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Australia (CVIAA) whose role is to provide representation at a federal level for manufacturers and suppliers to the commercial vehicle industry.
The CVIAA membership is comprised of individual state bodies and organisations - namely the CVIAQ, and the Commercial Vehicle Industry divisions of the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC) and the Motor Trades Association (MTA) of NSW, SA AND WA.
The CVIAA maintains representation with a number of agencies including the Commonwealth Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government (DoITRDLG), the National Transport Commission (NTC) and Standards Australia.
The CVIAA provides input and responses to proposed vehicle regulations and reviews and proposals for Australian Design Rules, Australian Vehicle Standards Regulation and Australian Standards. |
